Argyll’s beaches

Scotland may not be the first place you think of if you’re considering a beach holiday. But you might be surprised to learn that the West Coast in particular is home to some truly stunning stretches of white sandy beach that wouldn’t look out of place on a tropical island paradise.

The lochs, lakes, islands and inlets in and around Argyll, Bute and the Highlands are home to a magical array of beaches which boast white sand and magical turquoise blue waters – and most are quiet year round.

Here we take a look at some of our favourites in the Argyll and west Scotland region.

Helensburgh Beach

Opposite Rosneath is the town of Helensburgh, which boasts its own sand and shingle beach. Here you can enjoy a paddle or relax in the summer sun. You’re also close to the many cafes, restaurants and bars in this busy little town!
