Scotland may not be the first place you think of for beautiful beaches but the West Coast is home to many spectacular stretches of white sandy beach that wouldn’t look out of place on a tropical island…
Here’s just a few of our favourites that are only a short distance from our caravan site.
Helensburgh Beach
Opposite Rosneath is the town of Helensburgh, which boasts its own sand and shingle beach. Here you can enjoy a paddle or relax in the summer sun. You’re also close to the many cafes, restaurants and bars in this busy little town!

Levengrove Park
Nestled in Dumbarton, Levengrove Park is a picturesque expanse where the River Leven converges with the estuary of the River Clyde. The park offers views overlooking the Leven to the north and east. The panoramic views extend across the Clyde, encompassing Renfrewshire.

Ardentinny Beach
Situated on the Cowal Peninsula, Ardentinny beach boasts the title of the longest beach in the region. Embraced by the shores of Loch Long, this scenic spot is a favoured destination for picnickers, hikers, and families alike.

Lunderston Bay
This pretty bay is the nearest sandy beach to Glasgow, popular with families, walkers and picnickers. There is plenty of space to let of steam and a wide grassy area with benches to enjoy a picnic.

Wemyss Bay
Wemyss Bay features a rocky and shingle beach that offers a southern view overlooking its namesake bay and the upper Firth of Clyde. The beach serves as an ideal view point for observing ferries as they arrive and depart from the terminal, connecting to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute.
