Make a splash at Rosneath Castle Parks water sports centre

Sitting proudly on the banks of stunning Gareloch, our on-site water sports centre is the perfect place to dive into some aquatic adventures.

Our water sports centre is open to park guests, owners, and the public, giving everyone the opportunity to make a splash and join in the fun. Our very own fully qualified instructor Seb is always delighted to take everyone out on the water and show them the ropes. Whether you are a beginner who is starting from scratch or a pro who wants to improve the skills you already have, Seb ensures the sessions are suited to all abilities.

The choice of activities on offer ensures everyone has the chance to find something they enjoy, whether that be kayaking, paddle boarding or sailing.

Kayaking – Kayaking is a sport and activity where you use a canoe-like raft to paddle through open water, involving a double-bladed oar and a small boat known as a kayak. You can experience the fun in a 2-person kayak or a 3-person kayak at the park depending on your preferability being one of the most popular ways people enjoy time on the water. Kayak sessions run from: 10am – 11:30am | 12pm – 1:30pm | 2pm – 3:30pm

Pico Sailing – A Pico sailing boat is a small sailboat that relies on wind to power sails and propel the boats – which can be used by either 1 adult or 1 adult and a child. However, these can only be hired if you have a RYA Level 2 certificate. A RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate is the equivalent to a powerboat licence. You can get this by completing a one-day RYA Powerboat level 2 course at an RYA training centre then apply for the International Certificate of Competence. Sailing sessions run from: 4pm – 5:30pm

Paddleboards – This activity involves standing on a specially designed board and propelling yourself through the water using a paddle. You can either stand or kneel on the board while using their arms to move forward. The paddleboards are 1 person, but they can fit 1 adult and 1 child. Stand Up Paddleboard sessions run from: 10am – 11:30am | 12pm – 1:30pm | 2pm – 3:30pm

There is no need to worry about not having the correct equipment with you, as here at Rosneath we have everything you will need available to hire. All equipment costs £20 per session and wetsuits and shoes can be hired for an additional £5 (subject to availability) with lifejackets supplied as standard for every session at no extra cost.
