What costs should you consider?

There are many benefits to purchasing a caravan holiday home in Scotland but you also need to make sure you understand the costs. So, what can you expect?

  • The purchase price is the main cost when buying a holiday home. Prices vary depending on the age, size and specification of the holiday home.
  • You will pay an annual pitch fee to cover the costs of site maintenance, and pitch services.
  • Gas and electricity is billed twice a year. The majority of the park has piped gas to the pitch. Limited number of caravans are still on bottled gas. Sewage is included in the site fees. Non-domestic rates (i.e. water) are paid directly to the council, owners on our park do not need to pay non-domestic rates due to the arrangement the park has with Argyll and Bute council.
  • To protect your caravan holiday home over the cold winter months, it is advisable to perform a winter drain down. You can do this yourself, or we can provide this service for you.
  • Your caravan should be insured annually, and there are specialist providers offering appropriate policies.
